I guess HP wants you to purchase new printers. This is what I got when looking for Deskjet 995ck driver.

In order to have my HP Deskjet 995ck, I used the 990c driver included in Vista.

They may be released but that doesn't mean they work!!
I've had to uninstall my network attached PhotoSmart C5180 because the drivers interfere with my Internet connection. Issue reported to HP. If I start Vista with the printer turned off it takes minutes for IE or Firefox to load and then web pages time out. If the printer is on, IE and Firefox load ok by it takes ages for web pages to load. I've tried turning off IP6 but that didn't make any difference. Uninstalling the All-In-One drivers and software fully restored Internet connectivity.
Will have to try direct USB attach but, if I do ,what's the point of paying extra for a printer with a network port?

My trusty HP Photosmart 1215 isn't on the list, either. Doubt it ever will be. Anyone have a work around?

I may have a work around. At least it works for my Officejet 1200d which seems unlikely to ever have fully functional drivers from HP.

Download the XP drivers and double-click to expand the files. Drill down to the inf file: hpbi1200\setup\drivers\Win2k_XP\English\hpf1200k.inf. Double-clicking the inf file should install the driver. Clearly the exact names will be different for different printers but hopefully the procedure will get you what you need.

I went to the site and for my HP 6122 it says "use the alternate drivers". The alternate driver is missing the ability to print front and back documents in one pass. Very frustrating to say the least.

I had a Photosmart 7350, but gave up on waiting for HP to put a Vista driver out for it. I seriously doubt they are going to put much effort into developing drivers for discontinued products.

I decided to go ahead and get a new printer instead. I found a nice Epson scanner/printer on clearance that already had a Vista certified driver available.

The drivers work for my HPC 1210, but I cannot view my ink levels any longer! I would have to buy a newer printer for that to work! Errrrr.

HP has a list of printers and it tells if the Vista driver is out yet, and if it will be release.

My printer will have a Vista driver released sometime between now and the 07/07.

Photosmart C5180 Vista Home Basic driver installation problem.

Hi. I downloaded and ran the huge AIO_CDA_Full_Network_enu.exe. All seemed well till I got to:

Installing All-in-One Series
Current progress - xxx KBps
Overall Progress - Checking System
(Step 1/4) - 94%

There it stayed, for one hour till I stopped it, with the xxx slowly coming down, so it had not hung.

Re-download the .exe and tried again. Exactly the same problem.

Any thoughts anyone? Thanks, (newbie) Tom

Another C5180 issue!

I can install the printer and everything is working well (printer connected with a WLAN Router) - until I send my laptop to standby or hibernation. When I resume the system the printer software stops working (and the printer disappears completly from the printer list).

I sent some emails to the HP support and received some "helpfull" answers - the first one started with: Disconnect the USB-cable - the second one included the recommendation to shut down the hpqtra08 process - the last one simply said, that the HP-Software for Windows Vista is incompatible with windows vista and I should disable standby and hibernation :-)

Maybe someone out there had the same problem, is a little more competent then the HP support and allready found a solution for this problem!

I have the same printer along with a Brother MFC 8500, both of which are paperweights at this moment since I'm running Vista on my PC and laptop. Have you been able to resolve anything? Have you contacted HP directly?

It's a little ridiculous that 6 months after launch there's still these issues with printer support. I paid $200 for my 1020 like 5 months ago and now it's useless.

Vista won't even support my hp scanner except for basic functionality. I'm seriously thinking about returning my hp laptop I just purchased because of their apparent ineptitude.

HP has the C5180 drivers and photosmart software back up on their website.

The file was reposted on their FTP site on 6/11/2007 @ 3:04:00 PM, but it is not clear to me if this is a new version or not. I haven't had a chance to install them yet. If anyone tries them out, please post your results here. I will do the same.

Still,
Jep
