I just purchased a Nvidia 8800 and it should be here by the weekend and I can't wait. I will be posting some screenshots of games after i get it and have Directx 10. Anyone else have an 8800 and if so can you post some shots?

You already have DirectX 10, it's included in Vista and you probably won't see any difference in any games yet, there are'nt really any DX10 games out yet.

Although DX10 comes with vista, you need a gpu that supports it to be able to use it.

You guys should see the Crysis development video, the graphics in it are amazing. The engine is ridiculous.

I just built my new system around the Evga 8800 GTX card. Can't wait for the games to come out for it.

At the moment, you won't see any significant changes in todays DirectX 9.0 games (although some people do say you may get "spiffier effects" in some games). It will be when DirectX 10 games come out that you will see the real potential of the 8xxx series cards, although some games are said to be getting a DirectX 10 patch, so far I only know of Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander that are getting DX10 patches (Company of Heroes is a definite).

i've got the 8800 gtx here and the only thing i'm upset about is that need for speed: carbon lags a good amount when i run it in high graphics mode (which i didn't think would since this is supposed to be a "god" video card). also, there is a conflict with dreamscape and the 8800, or so they say.

alot of the EA are unstable on vista u might just have to wait till ea bring a patch or nvidia make a driver which fixes these problems

Yeah it won't be your videocard. If you were to run the same game on the same card in XP with it would be smooth.

It's either the driver or the game. Not your card.

Edit: And if it is your card then hardware defect.

Probably is your card ...
If anyone is getting an 8800 card be ready to have to look around to fix it....
Unforuntly nearly everyone I know who has an 8800 usually gtx is have perfomance issuies...
8800 gtx cards are massively underpreforming...

i am having no troubles with my 8800 card. I have Windows Vista Ultimate w/ my 8800 card so maybe that is making a difference because I am having no slow gaming or any trouble at all with my card. its an incredible card and it puts out some really good graphics. i am currently playing Spider Man 3 and the city of New York looks incredible and the game isnt even full Directx 10..i couldnt imagine it if it was.
