OK....install vista glazz , and patch that ( make sure u get two green ticks on the icons. Theres a picture a few posts ago showing you what your looking for ). then install your theme , you will see this screen (below) , click on install and it self installs into your P.C. Id read the "READ ME NOTES " first though . .All information is in there .

Attn: Detoxa and Lee,

PLEASE advise where i might have gone wrong with the installation ?

1. Downloaded & installed VistaGlazz from codegazer website
2. Applied BOTH patches successfully to get 2 GREEN ICONS.
3. Downloaded & installed theme from http://ukintel.devia...-Vista-56239822
4. Applied theme from C: drive

Hi maverick ,
OK have you right clicked on desktop > Personalise>themes> then tried to apply theme ?Have you checked that the theme is in the correct place ? C:\Windows\Resources\Themes .
You received an error message after you installed it , This kinda tells me its not installed properly . Delete the theme , Re install and reapply.
Also i see you have tried other themes and they didn't work either , joulo i think you mentioned . Did you have full aero before you applied the themes ?

YES

YES

You received an error message after you installed it , This kinda tells me its not installed properly . Delete the theme , Re install and reapply.
Despite giving a Warning message, it did manage to install the themes - see snapshot as proof.

Also i see you have tried other themes and they didn't work either , joulo i think you mentioned .
Joulo is almost there BUT Startup Menu is still NOT GLASS LIKE !

Did you have full aero before you applied the themes ?
How do i achieve this ?

is this getting to be a pain in the neck when installing almost all themes, like getting a "theme could not be applied", or just not plain appearing when clicking them?

out of about 10 I manage to have 1 working...barely.

I must admit i find that strange as mine work fine , Cant understand it why maverick and yourself are having problems ...Is anyone else having problems with themes ? The only problems i have with aero is when i enter a site on the web that doesn't support aero and my theme flicks back onto basic in a rather unflattering way .

After I downloaded the theme and put it in the theme folder, when I right click and go to choose the color scheme, the themes are not showing up in the list. What do I do?

I installed the patches and followed the instructions... then i extracted a theme to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, and then opened Personalise > Window colour and appearance > but what exactly is "Open classic appearance properties for more colour options"? I dont see anything like that and I can't choose the theme...

Is there any other way or did I do something wrong? thanks.

yup. you have to re-do the patches and everything, but it worked just as easily as pre-sp1

I took ownership these uxtheme.dll, themeui.dll and shsvcs.dll and still I cannot rename them (so that I could copy modified files). Any ideas?
