If you have downloaded and installed all the latest drivers like you mentioned, then my guess is that one of your games have a compatibility issue with Vista. What games are you playing when this happens?

I think that it is driver related, my 5200 did that, but my 7600 GS does not. I replaced the 5200 with the 7600.

I believe it is a driver related program.
1)Uninstall the current driver
2)Restart the PC
3)Download the vista driver from Nvidia website
4)Install the driver.

Then let us know what happens.

Another question: Does it happen directly when you start to play game, or it happens later on?

I have this problem when I try to play Jo Woods Alpin Skiing 2007. The game keeps giving me the "Display driver stop responding and have recovered" messages or I get the Blue Screen Of Death.

Took the game off my Hard Drive and everything else is fine again.

I am not really sure about this game is compatible with vista or not. It seems like it is not.

I had a similar problem like this, after i installed the latest Forceware driver (May 2nd version)
I'm having no problems. I think it may be your graphics card it may not be fully suporeted with vista, you'l have to wait for a new driver or upgrade your GC

when i had my 7300gs and was playing CS:S, NFSMW and few other games, the video error message appeared. than i changed to 8800gts and downloaded the nvidia 8 series driver and now i have no problem playing any games.
so its either driver error or graphic card error. but i'm very sure its driver error.
wait for a while for nvidia to release an updated driver package for the 6+7 series GPU.

it could be a problem with your monitor...did you just upgrade to vista on an older computer with an older monitor? I had boughten a new monitor a year ago and then had to buy a new computer and bought one w/o a monitor cuz i had one. I updated to Vista Ultimate and I am having problems with my monitor cuz there is no driver. I am waiting on a new monitor right now. Should be here by thursday. I will let u know if it helped.

I've been getting the same error on different games as well,

Battlefield2
WoW
Starwars Empire at War
etc.

This also can occur at random while using different applications.

I've tried both the nVidia drivers and the MFGR drivers no change.

PC

AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600
2Gb Corsair DDR2 SDRAM PC26400
2xEvga GeForce 8800GTS SLI enabled
DFI lanparty Mobo with a Nforce 590 chipset

Previous driver versions caused vista to bluescreen the newer versions cause the driver hang. At this point I'm inclined to think that this is a vista or Nvidia drivers.
