I think most people who have Vista are saying they prefer this female TTS voice to the old Sam one, but IMO I think the new one sounds a lot worse than the old one!

I've tried downloading just about ALL the [free] TTS engines, but absolutely none of it seems to work - it doesn't actually do anything to the default version, and I couldn't find any settings to make any new voice set as default

I would TRULY love any help you can get on this! That new voice just really bugs me - as I use TTS on Unreal Tournament 2004 [ugh, she can't say half the things right - even something as simple as "hi all" sounds so horribly mechanical - or 'forced' even, I suppose - unlike Sam's voice]

I've just noticed someone else has posted this before [a while back], but he/she didn't get a response either :(

Can we please settle this topic once and for all, so it can finally be laid to rest?

I've got the best one, Daniel-UK-English. It's 90mb though in a self installing file, but it's the best one i've heard so far.

If you would like to hear it, Pendulum have used it on the track 'Blood sugar' listen here: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=vfzCpeQoa7g

OK [sorry for the late-ish, reply], I did what it said and ran it as the admin.... but nothing's changed; do I restart my computer to make it work or something?

you told me you got the best one, but you didn't give me a link to it - any chance of showing me the link at all? [via PM if the admins won't let you in here]

ps. don't you have to buy TextAloud first, before you can use these voices?
