Hello there, my first post, and I need help.:D

But I'd like to say this on Vista. It's a pretty solid OS, haven't had a problem with it until now, just 1 program. I had bought Grand Theft Auto Vice city from a guy I used to work with who bought a 360, which was about a couple of weeks before I upgraded to Vista from XP, and I've had Vista for about 2 months now. And Vice City worked great on XP(Surprizing on my machine.) But, I just installed it about an hour ago, and didn't get it running exacly... I'll start the shortcut to the .exe file up, and the screen goes black to switch the resolution, but then goes back to the desktop with Vice City down at the start menu. And my cursor dissapears. Then, I can't close down Vice City, even force quitting it and ending the VC process doesn't work to close it down. So I have to manually reset the computer, which is not good for the machine.=[ And you can laugh at my specs, I do sometimes myself. Rofl

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Venice core skt.939
1027 ddr 3200 Kingston Value Ram(Horrible timings.=[)
ASUS A8R-MX/SI Mobo
ATI Xpress 200 128 mb shared.
Realtek onboard sound
vista premium build 6

So, anything I can do? This is actually the only GTA game I can play.

Try to download a patch... It's meant to fix some kind of graphic corruption.
Hope this helps.

I don't like San Andreas. D: Like I said, the only GTA game I'll play is Vice City.

The patch did help though too. I reinstalled it, and turned off both the sidebar and aero, and it did work, but graphic corruptions everywhere. So I tried the patch you suggested. So, thanks for the patch. :D

Noones forcing you to have it on you know, it's not supposed to be necessary, its just supposed to look nice. Your reply seemed more unnecessary.

Vista's transparent GUI, it's just that some older programs or ones that aren't normally windowed(such as games) don't work well with it and vista will compensate by changing to the Vista Basic GUI - But sometimes it just fudges up a bit.
