I think windows live onecare should be free to customers, even if it is a poor antivirus app.

Then it would be eveb worse as they wouldn't have the funds to support it...

4 Years on AVAST and never a problem. I like the DEFCON alarm it creates when it dectects a virus or something else inappropriate. The good price is secondary. No problems with Vista either. It takes care of itself and you.

Every time I see one of these posts I tell myself I won't reply...but its just too damn tempting! >_<
So with that out of the way I have to say - putting nod32 in front of KAV? Grrrrr. Just you wait till v7 comes out! And BitDefender - 124% - that's nuts.

(please take my comments with a grain of salt)

Kaspersky Internet Security is an excellent choice, though it's a bit expensive.
But it's worth it, because of it's unparalleled protection.

i use both avg free edition and avira's antivir personal edition classic (free). it works with vista and defender without conflict. antivir is a proactive guard and i have had no invasive files since installing it.[/font]

A) Norton anti-virus is the devil.
B) Nod32, Avast!, and AVG rank among the top in my opinion.
C) Kaspersky is also good.

Personally, I like Nod32 the best.

I don't use an anti-virus any more, slows down the computer. But I'm careful anyways and I always re-install Vista so it's not much of an issue for me

You should always have anti-virus installed even if you do reinstall Vista on a daily bases, I suggest you give Avast a try as it doesn't seem to use that much of RAM

Yeah, I might do. But I think the last time I used avast, I really didn't like it. It just looks ugly etc

I like Norton, but DO NOT get the Norton 360 suite. It is crap and I had to uninstall it an re-do almost every other day. Luckily this machine came with Norton pre-installed for 15 months subscription.
