Last night I replaced my Nvidia 6200 with a 6800XT. Before then my desktop performance for Aero was 2.2 and now it is 5.9.

Processor Intel® Core™2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz 5.1
Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB 5.4
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE 3.7
Gaming graphics 527 MB Total available graphics memory 3.5
Primary hard disk 251GB Free (293GB Total) 5.8

Only a 3.5 :(

My nVidia 7300GS got a 3.4 before.... i dont think something is right here, im sure i have seen someone with the same gfx card as me and got a higher score... :(

I think there is something wrong with your score. Your spec is great especially the core 2 duo processor and 2Gb RAM. Look at my spec in my signature of my laptop and it has a score overall of 3.6. I bought my laptop in December 2005.

could just be the lack of driver support for the nvidia chips. i bet it will skyrocket once he gets tweaking around.

Hopefully  Maybe i should try the new beta drivers or something..

oh heres my laptops WEI... Got it in dec 05 aswell..

X-Fi Platinum. Yeah, it works but it does all kinds of weird stuff like crackle and pop when playing music. Plus there is no control panel yet included with the drivers. On top off all of that I cannot use half of the ports on the front bay panel. They still need a lot of work. As many have said these drivers should be alpha not beta!

Ahhh...Thats good to know becuase I was debating on buying the X-Fi. I guess Ill wait on that upgrade for awhile longer.

Is there a way to see what your score would be without having Vista installed yet? I'd like to know, but Dell won't be shipping me my Vista for 3-7 weeks.

Having 2GB of RAM doesn't constitute a higher score. You probably go the low RAM score for a few reasons.

How many sticks (1x2GB, 2x1GB, 4x512MB)? Are you running in dual-channel or singe-channel? Are the sticks of RAM from the same manufacturer batch (yes, it matters)?

Here is the one from my laptop. I just bought it lastnight. I know the score could be better, but what can I expect for the next to cheapest laptop I could find.

now please keep in mind my score should be in the 4-5 range but for some stupid reason im only getting a 2.2 for memory and i have 2 gigs in there,i know for a fact that this thing is buggy cuz i should be higher than a 2.2 for memory...my pc runs fine and everything so i know this is not accurate

I'm gonna guess you are running on-board video on a chipset that isn't 945/965/975. Correct? How much RAM do you have in your system?

ask someone with a similiar setup what they get then you would have a roundabout numbers, there is no other way to know unless you run it from within vista

so what's the highest possible score? i scored 4.3, but haven't seen anybody here with anything higher than 5.9. Is 6 the highest? If 10 is possible I'd like to know what Microsoft thinks you have to have to get a 10.

5.9 is the highest you can get. The rating scale is from 1-5.9.

Well in that case on comparison with other posts, the comp in my sig would probably be somewhere between 4.0-4.5 I think. Anyone else have a guess? Doesn't really matter that much I guess. I guess I'm just antsy, I just got this brand new laptop and fricken Dell's "express" vista upgrade will take 4-8 weeks for delivery. The only upside is there is a good chance many patches and drivers will be out by the time I actually get Vista installed on this thing.
