mfpmp.exe!!!!!! does anybody know about it?????pllease !!!!that causes music to skip, open up task manager check the pc usage when playing a song.

According to the MSDN forums, mfpmp.exe is part of Vista's DRM. It has been known to cause skips and pauses while playing copy protected music. So far i havent seen a fix for it, tho.

However, there might be a workaround if the music you are playing is from a copy protected CD or you have ripped music from a copy protected CD to MP3. There are programs like ANYDVD out there that remove the copy protection from CD's and DVD's. If that is the case, you can try downloading the trial version and see if that works.

You can get it at www.slysoft.com

Just an FYI, DON'T try to put XP on the tx1219us. XP drivers for this system are non-existent. Guess I'm back to square one with this issue...

So i got the computer back with the exact same problem, still isn't fixed. Don't know if they even fixed anything at all or if they can. Whatever, i'm just so tired of windows right now....from the millions of viruses to EVERY single little thing malfunctioning at one time or another, i can't take it anymore. Even if this problem gets fixed, i'm sure something else will come along, and eventually another.

So i returned the laptop, wasn't hard since it wasn't even 30 days and i'm well within my rights even if there was nothing wrong with it. But i returned it and i guess i'm ready to jump on the mac bandwagon, the new LEOPARD looks awesome! and it can run windows so i don't have to worry about any programs not working.

If anyone else is having this problem, good luck, hope it gets fixed. I gave up. =)

If it helps anyone, I read on a forum tonight that on Most pavilion notebooks the sound stutter is caused by the WIFI wireless. So turn it off and you should be good, but this isn't much of a solution if you connect to the web on a wireless netowork and always listen to music as myself, oh well it's something. Good luck.
