What should we talk about on the podcast?

What interests you?

Topics that relate directly to Windows Vista and/or The Vista Forums are preferred, but we're open to anything related to PCs, Macs, the ever growing Open-Source competition, and the rapidly changing internet sub-culture.

Be creative suggesting topics. Choose things your interested in and that you think are worth sharing with a lot of users. If you have an opinion you want to share with the listeners, post it, and we may read it on the show.

Now, let's hear your ideas. Your topic suggestion may be selected for our next show!

Guys, remember that this is "TheVistaForums", not "Easy Tech Help". So, the topic would have to be somehow related to Vista. My suggestion would be to discuss the upcoming Windows Vista Service Pack 1 - that should be enough for about 5-10 minutes of discussion.

Yes, Vista SP1 is already on the list of topics for discussion. Topics about specific issues related to tech support could become a regualr segment of the show. It seems there are enough ideas for it. But we'd much rather have topics that are more lively and debatable to make the show interesting. Topics like "Is DirectX10 worth it yet?" can stimulate a much more lively debate.

Maybe something on programming. Microsoft's "new" WPF would be a nice topic. All I know, is that the recourses are free. For this, the second beta of visual studio 2008 could be used. Or something on the easier winforms. But i assume thats too complicated for some members......

How about that DX10 is going to be available out side of vista?

Alright, well SP1 is my idea, as with yours, but I have a sugestion for a typical layout of the podcast. Test it out for the first, lets say 2 or 3 shows and work out all the "bugs"

advarage show lengh can be about 30 min.
  • 00:00:00 - 00:00:15 - Intro music with possable voice over
  • 00:00:15 - 00:03:00 - Podcast intro, introduce weeks hosts and the weeks main topic
  • 00:03:00 - 00:10:00 - Weeks mini topics: Mini topics can be about anything, small tech news articles etc.
  • 00:10:00 - 00:23:00 - Weeks main topic
  • 00:23:00 - 00:28:00 - Member questions, forum posts, podcast/site news etc
  • 00:28:00 - 00:30:00 - Next weeks preview, closing statments, replay intro music at this time.
Weeks when the show is longer then 30 mins, such as a 40-45 min show. or even a hour long show, follow same guide lines, but extend each segment up to at least 5 or 10 more min.

Tell me what you think of this layout.

Thank you for the suggestions (though off-topic), however what I really want to see is some more topic suggestions for the podcast.
