As discussed on the previous podcast this week's podcast will be all about booting, we can obviously look at bringing the topics that have been listed into the next episodes.

We want to try to have some podcasts as "masterclasses" in different topics, such as booting (booting multiple operating systems, how to edit the boot menu, etc)

yes, but why not more then one topic? The whole point of a podcast is to talk about different topics, not some courses on how do do stuff. though that could be alright at times.

Also, I don't think you guys should plan the next weeks topic as we have this topic here and if your just gonna ignore all of our suggestions and use your own, then whats the point of this thread? You should plan a few things but also look at this thread. now we have some great topics and hopefully some made it in this weeks podcast. If not oh werll, but you should at least try to look at this thread.

Also, what will be the point of talking about a software that was launched lets say today in a podcast 4 weeks from now? You should try to at least talk about anything major that happened over the past week.

again just a suggestion, don't take it the worng way

Okay, let me make something clear, as I have been solely responsible up to this point as to what has or hasn't made it on the show, I need it to be understood, that the topics for shows are picked by me. It just so happens that the next show will have a large segment covering PC boot-up, but will also, as has been the case on prior shows, include a regular news segment.

Also, though I appreciate any input, and some suggestions on the forum will make it in, it's my position as the producer of the show to make a final decision.

And also remember, Chris, that we can't take every single suggestion and use it, but we do still listen to all the suggestions. (Y)

I think this has been mentioned but could I request that we could review more games and software for Vista like what’s hot at the moment, and if possible things like tips and guides for help in things like office and Photoshop etc.

This thread has kind of died down, so I am hoping to jump start it a bit.

We're always looking for more topic suggestions for new shows, and we would love to hear from more of our members. So, let's see what you've got!

How about Microsoft Office SP1? Talk about the new stuff in it, the flaws, etc.

Well there are lots and lots of gaming errors on Vista at the moment. You can discuss if SP1 will fix all of them, and what kind of gaming errors you have heard of going on Vista. You can use "Game" section, and get something to talk about there :P Gaming is a bit hot now.

Just a thought.

i say an interesting topic at the moment is milestone 1 of windows se7en, we could discuss about wether we think microsoft will deliver on time (most people use the lengh of xp and vista to base their opinions but microsoft have been on time with mmost other releases, mabie that was a one off??

also something i would like to discuss is about office (just a general discussion possibly about SP1 but also mabie the future of it and the past versions working on vista)

I wouldn't mind a mild discussion about forum etiquet! I have noticed (even in my short time here) a lot of people do what I call "hit and run problem posting" where they just post their problem, get an answer, and disappear without even saying thank you! People posting their problems in the wrong forum (makes it difficult for people like me to try and give them solutions), people not searching for existing solutions to their problems before posting a new topic on it...

Sorry... sounds like a rant I guess.

Here's a list of good topic matter!

-A discussion on the merrits vs. costs of overclocking.
-Finally settling the science behind why using over 3GB of RAM on a 32bit OS causes problems
-The "Anti Trust" organization going through Windows 7 with a fine toothed comb looking for more violations of the trade restrictions placed on M$ for monopolizing the market.
-Why M$ actually makes a proffit from violating the trade restrictions ruling by the courts when they have to pay a fine every time they do it.
-A discussion on the downfall of Media Player (how it is gradually getting worse as each version progresses)
-Windows built-in security... and how it is taking the operation away from the operating system (restricting user rights by default, making it more difficult to disable their so-called protection)
-Placing blame where blame is due... why hardware manufacturer's are not producing correct working drivers for existing hardware (so they can sell the same product with a Vista logo on it)

Maybe some of those aren't good topics.... but I'm trying and I guess that counts ;)

Actually, quite a few good topics. When you join in the podcasts, it looks like you'll have a lot to talk about! :D
