Cant explore the disk or boot from it. Running xp 64 pro and want to do a full new install with vista. Disk shows up empty when I try to explore it, flashes a single _ on a black screen when I try to boot from it. My comp goes directly to the xp login screen when i eject the vista disk or wait long enough and it goes automatically. Just reformated and reinstaled xp trying to fix these problems. The disk seems to be in fine shape, just got it from newegg. Any help would be great, really want to get dx 10 up and running as soon as possible.

Try and read it in another pc just to eliminate possibility of drive problems. Failing that - its back to retailer time.
