Hi
I have a HP DV2701TX laptop. It has windows Vista preloaded. For some reasons I wanted to dual boot it with Windows XP.I installed it by using a Windows XP cd slipstreamed with SATA.But the problem is I do not know the motheboard name of HP DV2701 TX.I downloaded the Audio(Conexant ) and Video(NVIdia 8400M GS).I tried to install them but both of them gave error that the devices are not found. How can it be possible when they are existing and successfully working in Vista. Can anybody give me the complete list of drivers for successfully installing the devices onto the laptop with Windows XP Pro SP2 running

I don't know if this is one of those case but there are some 'made for Vista' laptops that don't support XP or anything other than Vista.
Apparently when it comes to video drivers especially (because it's a laptop) you must either install the ones made available by HP or find a site with drivers which have had the .inf file hacked to suit the setup and from reading about these some people find them working OK but not good and some experience constant BSOD's and reboots, so they revert back to Vista.
Seems you task is not an easy one.

Here is a link to a page where such hacked .inf files are included in the driver kit and according to them will install XP drivers on a lappy.
I can only say, use these entirely at your own discretion and risk.
