im not a fan of steam. in fact i hate it.lol
but i bought CSS from shops it came with hldm and dod source.. i installed steam. but when i go into steam it says its updating games (coz when u buy retail disc u have 2 update then u can play) but is says starting download but takes AGES 2 start.but when it does it goes fast.(coz i got adsl +2) but when its done i would check the files in /C drive.. example :C/program files/steam/steam apps
when its updated it creates a file named my user name.. but it never does..whats wrong with it.and some times steam crashes..my pc is fine but steam is unstable..
how can i fix this?

Sometimes it happens to me too. but I just restart it. but sometimes that doesn't work. but then I try it again and it's good. but I don't have cod. but you have a much larger than allowed signature and you should scale it down a bit before you get warned by a mod. but then again you might not. but

A file called your username? That is normal, I have that too.

Steam crashes are regular no matter how stable your PC is :'(

Btw my steam ID is PepsiDude002 so add me when your problem is solved.

Try deleting the two/three ".blob" files in C:/Program Files/Steam. It'll force steam to rebuild it's database (I think), and you'll need to login again, but you should be all set.
