Hi,

In but a few weeks I'll be free of the tyranny of deadlines and will be willing and able to produce and host an episode if anyone else is up for it.

I don't check these forums regularly, so the best way to get in contact with me is via facebook or twitter - the details of which can be found by clicking the rather large link in my sig.

Daniel

I'll be up for helping out with another podcast. Seems when I was trying to get one rolling, there wasn't much interest. I don't check these forums that much, but you can get a hold of me on WLM.

I wouldn't mind doing a guest appearance, it wouldn't be my first podcast. XD

I could answer questions regarding Microsoft, and maybe give away a secret tip. ;)

What software do you use to produce your podcast? When I was on OS X I used a program called Ubercaster but have yet to find any equivalent for Windows.

Honestly I usually get some free Skype recording tool like this one and then edit it all up using Audacity. There must be a lot more complex solutions, even hardware, but this is a good way to do everything free of charge, so I recommend it to all hobbyists.

I know a lot of people use Audacity, but it's one I shy away from. With the podcast I do I incorporate musical interludes to give the hosts/guests a quick break, and doing that during the show makes it easier editing later on. Plus with Ubercaster I can insert markers for possible troublesome spots like coughs and whatnot. I haven't been able to find a way of doing that with Audacity.

I believe (when Chris was around :P ) that he did it using:

1) Skype, and a program to record the incoming audio from Skype itself.
2) A cheap mic for sending his voice to Skype so we could hear him.
3) A dedicated high quality mic for recording his own voice, which was later mixed into the recording.
4) Audacity to edit it.

I'm not 100% sure if that's what he used and did, but I seem to remember him saying that. So I'm fairly sure I'm correct. ;)

I'm filling in for drunkard as host. Feel free to send me a PM with a .mp3 file of something short and simple so I can evaluate your speaking ability and microphone.

There's a whole section of stuff here, and if you didn't follow, I did the iWinUX podcast as well.
