I downloaded a torrent today, it was an .7z file that had been compressed and its size was 900mb. I uncompressed it and saw that the original files were 4GB (it took almost 30 minutes to uncompress)!

How can I compress a large file into a very small one like this?

Use winRAR and choose the compression amount you want.
