I am going to buy a PS3 and I want to know how I get the internet on it or go online. I have broadband in my house so do I need to buy some sort of adapter? Or will an ethernet cable work?

Out of the box, it'll connect to either WiFi or ethernet. PSN is free, too, so all you need is an email address and postal address to sign up (and a credit card if you want to purchase games and so on off the PlayStation store), and you're done.

Also, when you do sign up to the PlayStation Network, make a couple of additional user accounts on the console and sign up for both the US and Japanese store - you can often get demos and trailers that are specific to only those countries, and, unlike the Xbox 360, Sony don't restrict the US store to US IP addresses. (Y)

Of course, you'll need an address in those countries to sign up. Nothing a quick Google Search for a business can't help with. :D

If you make a Japanese Hotmail account and open a gamertag with it, you're able to use the Japanese store. :P

You don't even have to do that. forgot what it was, but a couple people at my GameStop have been setting something back in their 360s or changing one option and downloading the Resident Evil 5 demo before it hit the US.(if it has yet!). I'll find out and post it up.

They downloaded the demo and burned it to a DVD or CD. They didn't change anything on their 360.
