They need to make Underground 3 and then retire the IP. NFS has been ok, but it's been missing a lot lately. So I won't expect much out of anything they do anymore.

The last good Need For Speed game was Most Wanted and even that wasnt as good as Underground 2. Like Mephisto said, they need to make Underground 3 (and make it more like Underground 2/Most Wanted rather than like the newer games) and then leave it.

Seeing as EA owns Burnout as well they should spend more time marketing that. Burnout Paradise was amazing but the amount of people who havent played it is shocking. Need For Speed Pro Street was, in my opnion, awful and faaaaaaar too many people played that.
