EA announced the online store feature of the upcoming third installment of the PC best-selling Sims franchise.

The purpose of the online store is to provide players with exclusive in-game items and additional content that may be purchased with SimPoints. SimPoints will be available in bundles of 500, 1000, and 2000 to be purchased for real cash. The game is set to launch worldwide on the PC, Mac, iPhone, iPod touch and mobile devices starting June 2, 2009.
