CSS doesnt run well on Vista Rate Topic: -----

I have Windows Vista home premium and it doesnt run so well.. It laggs alot even though i put the settings at lowest

These are my specs:

Processor/CPU: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
System model: Aspire M5100
DirectX-version: DirectX 10
Memory: 1790MB RAM
1403 Mt used, 2421 Mt avaible

What kind of videocard do you have?

Judging by the processor, it looks like that Acer is a couple years old. Like c0lin said, if you can tell us the graphics card, that'll be a difference maker. If you've never upgraded anything in there, it's most likely an integrated graphics chip, which will kill most games. But just let us know, and we'll be glad to help :)

I had a look at the model and yes it has an integrated card, ATI Radeon X1250, which is not good to game on at all. You will definitely need to upgrade to a dedicated card, according to what I read you do have PCI Express so you should be able to get a decent card in there. Don't know about your PSU though as it wasn't shown, you may need to upgrade that too to be able to power a dedicated graphics card.

Had the same issue, works well on XP, never got it fixed under vista.. had a decent card in the machine to.

I have vista and i LOVE css.
I had to download it because i had it on a disc but i had vista NOT xp.
and keep your game updated.

If you do have a PCI express slot on your motherboard just like what Person8800 said, you should consider getting a graphics card.

If you just like to play older games such as CSS then I would recommend an nVidia 9600gt card or similar, very cheap for a decent graphics card.

Yea maybe upgrade your drivers or maybe even a graphics card.
