Hi,

i've recently decided to reinstall Fallout 3, however it always displays an error at the same stage of installation 'something like Cylic redundancy error'

anyway i've tried cleaning the cd with a proper cleaning kit
and attempted to revive it using a piece of software called CD check.

anyway im struggling to get the damn thing to install and dont want to have to download an ISO from somewhere.

Any suggestions?

Try the toothpaste trick, it has worked for me quite a few times.

Unfortunatly i got the same CRC error, same place.

Only difference being it seemed to install slightly faster.

the strange thing is - the CD isnt even in bad condition, its pretty well looked after with only 1 or 2 noticeable minor scratches

Another thing to try is make a copy of the disk with a program like DeepBurner. Then try installing from the copy.

Data2.rar? Should be Data2.cab but yeah sounds like your disk is fairly damaged. You might be able to get it repaired at your local game store. Some of them have disk repair services, they employ a buffing/recoating technique.

The other option is finding a friend who has the game and borrowing the disk.
