Hi,
I was just looking into pre-ordering Windows 7 Home Premium E but I'm not sure if it'll be worth buying. Can anyone here give me any advice on whether I should wait for bugs to be fixed etc?

Thanks.

Buy it!!! Quickly!!! It's on sale for pre-order for £44 (RRP £150) at Dixons, Comet, PC World, Play.com, Amazon UK, etc but it's only until August 9th and only while stocks last so be quick about it.

It's far better than XP or Vista.

It works as well on my skulltrail rig below as it does on my laptop which is only 1.6GHz with 2GB

For the early order price ($50 in the US) I think it is well worth. I like a lot of aspects of W7 although I am a hard core Vista fan.

I think I'll preorder from Play. If I order from Play.com, I'm guessing I'll get a disc? Am I correct?

It’s definitely worth buying, Vista was worth buying and Win7 is more than a step up.
At that low upgrade price absolutely.

Definitely, run out and get it. Personally I can't wait to get the RTM on this little baby.

idk my dad was too lazy to order it and i think the pre orders are done, so now its shell out $150 each copy, i will just stick with windows 7 RC until its juiced out i guess, and then just go back to XP or vista, besides, i rather have that money go to where it could be needed more from a smaller more open company (mandriva, they have got surprisingly a bit better in the past days, i was complaining about  their website a couple of days ago ( i did it constructively) then the next day the website maintainer fixed it and posted All OK, isn't it ? and linked back to show me he fixed it.

Originally, I didn't think I'd even bother even trying the "free" evaluation copy I am entitled to use through my Technet subscription. But, I did upgrade two of my boots because I wanted to do some performance testing. Having used 7 for a while I am impressed. I like it. So far it seems more stable/reliable than Vista. And, as my tests and those of others have shown, 7 is faster than Vista by a decent margin. To me, I think 7 is "worth it."

I've been using the RC for a while now as well and haven't had any issues. It runs better than many "FINAL" version Windows products... lol

It's also much better than Vista, especially response-wise. (But maybe you won't feel a difference on a new machine)

Nothing else left to say that everyone else hasn't said.

Get Windows 7.

H have been using the RC and it JUST WORKS. Nice.

I pre-ordered the max 3. I can't wait till the end of OCT.........

I plan to "upgrade" my Vista and Clean install my XP where I am running the RC.

Even though I'm guilty of not doing it, you might want to consider doing a clean install even from Vista, especially if you have an old install with a ton of stuff. Some people have reported issues when doing in-place upgrades, and if you really don't have time to spend, you might as well try do things all the way and save time later.
