Can anyone recommend a Good educational textbook sort of thing for photoshop CS3?

I know quite a bit about it, but would like an actual instructional book so I can get the most from it (i know there loads of online tutorials, but they can be a bit aggravating to use).

So any ideas anyone?

;)

I have read some, and I don't like any of them. I just take the online tuts and learn-by-doing :P

Yeah i guess, but the ones I've seen aren't CS3 ones and it can be hard to get them done well.

the same tuts will almost always work exactly the same with CS2/3/4

I use CS2 and CS4 (used to use 3) CS2 has most the same features as 3/4 and 3 and 4 have the same UI, so if you find a CS2/3/4 tut it should work just fine.

I think the best way to learn Photoshop is to simple open the program and make pretty stuff. Honestly I would just try to make something and if your stuck use Google, after a while you will get it. In my opinion learning coding/designing out of books is way harder than just figuring it out by yourself. But no sorry I do not know any Photoshop books, sorry.

You might be that into this kind of stuff but this podcast is amazing for what you're doing. It's all Photoshop tutorials, new episodes every week.

I see what you mean, but there's just so many options in photoshop and I really just want to know what every one of them does. And I actually Learn Exceptionally well out of books, so it would be useful for me.

Photoshop CS3 Bible. Best book you get. My school issued it at the very beginning of my program and it is most helpful book i own. i suggest going into your local bookstore and skimming it first.
