So CairoShell is a project that was launched in 2007. The project's goal is to make a better and easier to use layout for Windows. In the beginning a lot of people got hyped up mainly because of their amazing concepts but I must say they are not nearly close to 10% of what they want.

Another disappointing thing is that they are still on 0.0.1.9 after two years and promised this:

But yea for those who tried the 1.9 Alpha release you must be quite disappointed. But back to the point I have created a poll to see what you guys think about the CairoShell project.

Honestly I don't think it will ever succeed. Microsoft is a big company with a ton of developers in Redmond and pretty much all over the world making sure Windows is finely-tuned and works with as much software out there as possible. No alternate/custom shell will ever be near as reliable as compatible, and that's a fail in my book. It's a fun and interesting project, that's for sure, but I don't think it has that much of a purpose in the real world.

I agree with your point but I believe it will become something someday but it will be like Linux: Unreliable and buggy.

And you base that on what? we have several servers and machines running Ubuntu and Ubuntu server for more then a year without incident, virus infection or need to reboot for unexplainable reasons, so where is the unreliable in that?

If CairoShell is ever released it will be for an outdated OS. I bet that the whole project dries up long before they get close to a release.

Wrong and wrong. You have no idea what you're talking about.
