hey well i got my ipod nano 5th generation the one with the video camera.
i have heaps of videos that i have taken with it, but i dont no how to get those videos and put them in my computer. they wont show in my itunes wen i plug it in i dont get it, how do i get those videos and put them on my comp.

I also want to upload a home movie from a DVD to my PC and put it on my IPOD.

Can anyone please walk me through the steps. I have no clue what I am doing!

Welcome to the forums. :) So I'll answer your questions separately:

1- In order to import those videos you must enable disk mode on your iPod first. You do that by checking "Enabling Disk Use" on your summary tab (you can get to it by choosing your iPod from the devices list within iTunes). When disk mode is enabled, your iPod will show up as an external drive, so go to My Computer, navigate over to your iPod (should show up like a normal hard drive) and open the DCIM folder. Your videos should be in there. After you're done copying them over it should be safe to delete them. Look at page 55 of the manual here if you still need help.

2- To get videos onto your iPod you usually must convert them first. I use Videora iPod Converter (it's free!). Once you're done converting you can just import it into iTunes and sync it normally.
