I have a Word 2007 documents that is populated with Content Controls. I have a header that is a table with multiple lines. The main body of the document is also within a table. I found that Word would merge the body and header table into one huge table that is all within the header. To fix this problem I had to set the properties of the main table as follows: Table Properties -> Positioning -> Vertical Position 3.5cm, Relative to Page. When this is set the tables do not merge. However, when there are multiple pages the table (main) prints over the header on the subsequent pages. This again can be fixed by putting 1cm into the, Table Properties -> Positioning -> Distance from surrounding text "top" and "bottom". The problem is now that you have to add this value to Vertical position otherwise the tables merge again.

Does anybody know how I can make this simple? All I want is to have a header table and main body table that do not merge. I also want the body table not to print over the header or the border that is around the page. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Johan

I actually found the problem. I have to set the "text wrapping" to none in the table properties. This fixes all the merging and alignment problems.
