Okay, so I'm downloading something on iPlayer, and last time I used it (month or so ago) the speeds were 400/500Kbp/s. Now it shows me this:

I know Sky said they were upping us to 10Mb broadband speed, yet the router says it's around the the same speed we got before:

So what do you reckon? Am I truly getting some amazing speed? (BTW, it's early morning here, so it's the least busy Internet time)

:frantic:

hmmm.....

(well, im a bit of newbie, so this may not help at all! :P )

I have three ideas about this one

1. I noticed that your router said 4855Kbps downstream - which roughly calculates to 4meg, so that would explain iPlayer's dowload rate (if i've got it right)

2. perhaps going to another speed test website might shed a bit of light on it??

3. It may be that the router page hadn't refreshed (mine said ~256k for about a month, yet I was getting just under a 1meg)

hope it helps

Well, it finished downloading in approximately 50mins.

And using some pretty simple maths, that equates to about 3.5Mb/s for the 1.28GB file - Which is just awesome. Don't know why it was so fast, but I'm not gonna complain :D
