So I haven't played a racing game in like 5 years. I had been really getting attracted to some of the racing games getting released left and right, so it was between NFS:Shift, Dirt 2, Forza 3, or waiting for Split/Second. My manager got a copy of Forza 3 and she didn't really want it blah blah and I broke down and bought it from her. lol Funny part is I was skeptical about it and now I'm pretty hooked.

As a game I have to give it a solid 8! Graphically the cars are extremely detailed, the tuning, upgrading, and general customization system are just superb. For a noob like me I just do the general upgrades because I don't know anything about what each part really does or how it affects the car performance. lol But the paint shop I've been spending a lot of time in, no masterpieces yet, but as I learn to manipulate more and more they get better. The variety of cars is ridiculous, but then again the game pretty much makes sure you experience a ton of them. Another thing that really catches my eye are the tracks and racing physics. Everything that should happen does and that really hits for realism. I remember in former games I've played that gravel was just another thing to race on grass, etc. In this grass slows you wayy down and gravel makes you drift like you've never drifted before lol. Overall it's an awesome game and I do recommend you racing fans out there give it a try at the very least. Oh! and lastly here's just a little tid bit on how big this game really is. You have a second disc of content that you have to install to your hard drive, 1.9GB to be exact. Yes you have the option of skipping out on it, but it does take away from the experience, less cars, tracks, etc.

Anyone else played Forza 3 out there?!?!?
Also vote in the poll too! :D

Fun fact. This guy designed the cover (well, the 3D artwork on it):

Yep I got it, and loving it!

Graphically it's a masterpiece, and the AI is brilliant, it actually feels like your racing other drivers who can react to situations etc rather than a bunch of computer cars following a scalextric line round the track. The soundtrack is okay, though I'd heard the same songs 2-3times just on the first day :(

I also love the damage physics, and the fact you can roll your car and the designers even rendered the underneaths of the cars for that :)

The Menu system is still a bit counter-intuitive for me (though I'm still biased because I constantly compare this game to GT4, which I thought had fantastic menus)

Overall, I'd give it 8.5/10, it's a rock solid game, but it's still not convinced me that it can best GT5 (whenever it arrives)

I just think that it's amazing they are even competing on the same level as Grand Turismo, mainly because Grand Turismo has been at it way longer. Turn 10 really has pulled out all the stops and have become a force to be reckoned with if Grand Turismo isn't careful they will lose their crown.

I actually like the soundtrack, but yes you do hear a lot of the same songs because there is limited selection for racing, menues, etc. But I was amazed that a song by band I really like is on there, Showdown by Pendulum.

Listen to it here, it's really fitting for a racing game.

This game is just one of the few reasons why I want a 360 for Christmas. I tried the game out at the eGames expo a couple weeks ago, couldn't stop playing.

Right, I've played it, and.....I love it. Really nice menus, awesome detail on the cars and stuff, and great gameplay. Plus it doesn't overwhelm you with technical stuff like GT5 Prologue does - and at the moment, it's beating GT5, IMO. (Y)

Of course, things might change a little once GT5 itself is out. :ninja:

I'm just astonished that it's making GT5 sweat this much, when the GT people have been at it so much longer. People are really finally applauding the work that these guys put into this game. It's pretty amazing!

same here too! only i got both of them for christmas (i got the MW2 edition of 360, i was really in shock when i got that edition of it that was 1 or 2 hundred dollars more), and so far forza 3 is a really good game! Sometimes it can get a little boring because it is completely simulated and you can't just pick it up and play it with your friends who don't have it, but i guess that's what dirt 2 is for (another great game!)

The MW edition of the 360 was only $100 more than a regular Elite, making it $399. But you got the game with it, specially designed 360, and also a 250GB hard drive (which in retail would be about $300, judging by the price of 120GB now), two controllers instead of one and a black headset. Same with the Forza Bundle, I kind of wish I had red ringed back then to upgrade to that. :D
