Ok so my computer updates every day just before i shut it down but i just relized that my "HP - Display - HP w1907 Wide LCD Monitor" failed to update since 2008 as you can see at the bottom:

Installation date: ‎30/‎11/‎2008 13:09

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 80070005

Update type: Recommended

HP Display software update released in November, 2006

Ok and now it is still failing i did not even know

Try getting the driver manually here. :)

Thanks for the reply but i still cannot do it this is wat message i got

"An error occurred while installing the display drivers."

any suggestions?

Just a thought... could you d/l the driver and install it in safe mode. Also, you might have to uninstall the current driver and then reboot to install the new, but I'm not sure with that one.

i think if i unistall the other one the screen might get <snip> oh there is a thing i did downlaod the drive and when i read the "read me file" i got this........

1. Attach HP monitor directly to your computer.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Click on START -> CONTROL PANEL.
4. Click on "Adjust screen resolution" option under the "Appearance and Personalization" section.
5. Click on the ADVANCED SETTINGS... button.
6. Click on the MONITOR tab.
7. Click on the PROPERTIES button.
8. IF the "Windows needs your permission to continue" window appears, click on CONTINUE button.
9. Click on the DRIVER tab.
10. Click on the UPDATE DRIVER button.
11. Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
12. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
13. Click on HAVE DISK button.
14. Click on the BROWSE button and navigate to the following directory:
c:\Swsetup\Monitors\SP39951\Files
15. Select the "HP_w1907.inf" file and click the OPEN button.
16. Click on the OK button.
17. Click on the NEXT button.
18. Click on the CLOSE -> CLOSE -> OK -> OK buttons to exit.

ok so the problem is in the monitor tab the properties button is blanked out but im admin

what can i do?

Alright, let's try another way:

1- Launch device manager

2- Look for that monitor drop-down and expand it, then right-click the monitor you're trying to update and select "Update Driver Software".

3- Follow the on-screen instructions and enjoy.

Nice thought but no i dont see Monitiors,, well anyway i emailed HP and they should get back to me so il let ya know if it`s been sorted.
